Rural Eye-Care Camp

Overview

Preventable blindness — much of it from untreated cataracts — remains common in rural communities with limited access to eye care.

The camp

Over a single weekend we ran a free eye-care camp offering screening, refraction, and referral, with community volunteers helping register and guide patients.

Impact

We screened 900 patients and referred 120 for sight-restoring cataract surgery.
